CR Aerial Services: Mission Policies

At CR Aerial Services, we pride ourselves on precision, safety, and transparency. Because our operations involve high-value enterprise equipment (UAV/ROV) and rigorous technical preparation, the following policies ensure a seamless experience for every client.

1. Booking & Retainer Policy

To secure a mission date on our flight or dive schedule, a Project Initiation Retainer is required.

  • The Amount: A retainer of 25%-50% (depending on project complexity) is due at the time of booking.

  • The Purpose: This retainer covers the specialized technical prep required for your mission—including FAA airspace authorizations, sensor calibration (Thermal/Optical), and equipment mobilization.

  • Application: 100% of your retainer is applied toward your final project balance.

  • Non-Refundable Status: In the event of a client-side cancellation, the retainer is non-refundable to cover administrative costs and the loss of the reserved calendar date.

2. The "Maine Weather" & Safety Policy

Safety is our #1 priority. Operating in New England means we are constantly monitoring wind, precipitation, and visibility.

  • Pilot-In-Command Authority: The Lead Pilot or ROV Technician has final authority to cancel or pause a mission due to unsafe conditions (high winds, rain, icing, or FAA flight restrictions).

  • Rescheduling: If we cancel a mission due to safety or weather concerns, your retainer is 100% transferable to a rescheduled date. You will never lose your deposit due to weather or regulatory shifts.

  • Site Safety: We reserve the right to ground a UAV or retrieve an ROV if bystanders, pets, or property are at risk during the operation.

3. Mission Logistics & Access

To ensure the best data collection possible, we ask that our clients assist with the following:

  • Site Access: Clients must ensure we have legal access to the takeoff/landing area or the water entry point.

  • Notification: For residential or high-traffic commercial areas, it is the client's responsibility to notify neighbors or stakeholders of the scheduled drone/ROV activity.

  • Mobile Command Center: Clients are encouraged to join us at our Mobile Command Center to view the live 4K feed. However, for safety, a 10-foot "sterile perimeter" must be maintained around the pilot during takeoff and landing.

4. Data Delivery & Privacy

  • Timelines: Standard data delivery (unprocessed footage) is typically provided within 48 hours. Complex thermal mapping or 3D modeling may require additional processing time.

  • Data Security: We utilize encrypted data handling. Your site data is yours—we will not use your footage for marketing purposes without your explicit written consent.

  • Copyright: CR Aerial Services LLC retains the copyright to all captured media and grants the client a full commercial-use license for the agreed-upon project scope.

5. Compliance & Insurance

  • Certified: Every mission is led by an FAA Part 107 Certified Remote Pilot.

  • Insured: CR Aerial Services LLC carries comprehensive hull and liability insurance specifically designed for commercial UAV and ROV operations. Proof of insurance is available upon request for any project.
